Salary: $135,000–$165,000
A well-established engineering consulting firm is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the planning, design, and delivery of complex water and wastewater treatment projects in the Denver metropolitan area.
Qualified candidates must have at least 12 years of experience working on water and wastewater projects within the Colorado Front Range region.
Position OverviewThis leadership role is responsible for managing all phases of municipal water and wastewater treatment projects, including planning, design, budgeting, scheduling, client communication, and coordination of multidisciplinary engineering teams. The successful candidate will serve as the primary client contact while mentoring junior engineers and supporting business growth throughout the region.
Key Responsibilities- Manage water and wastewater treatment projects from planning through final design and delivery.
- Lead project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, and financial performance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with municipal and public-sector clients.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and oversee technical quality.
- Mentor and develop junior engineering staff.
- Support proposal development and business development initiatives.
- Ensure projects comply with applicable regulatory and industry standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Minimum of 12 years of engineering experience
, including at least 6 years as a licensed PE working on water and/or wastewater treatment facilities. - Demonstrated experience with treatment plant planning, rehabilitation, and expansion projects.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Water and wastewater treatment processes
- Hydraulic analysis and pump station design
- Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR)
- Solids handling and odor control systems
- Chemical feed systems
- Coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, and filtration
- State and federal environmental regulations
- Excellent leadership, communication, project management, and client relationship skills.
