Accountabilities:The Water Treatment Process & Remote Monitoring Engineer will be responsible for optimizing treatment processes, improving operational performance, and supporting customers through technical expertise and data-driven insights.
- Monitor and evaluate water and wastewater treatment plant performance using SCADA, IoT, cloud-based platforms, and operational analytics tools.
- Analyze process data, identify optimization opportunities, and implement improvements related to efficiency, reliability, energy savings, and cost reduction.
- Adjust process controls, alarm settings, and automation strategies to maintain effective and compliant treatment operations.
- Develop and improve process control strategies, particularly for reverse osmosis and other advanced treatment systems.
- Conduct troubleshooting, root cause analyses, and recommend corrective actions to improve facility performance.
- Support system startups, commissioning activities, performance testing, and technical troubleshooting.
- Create standard operating procedures, dashboards, KPIs, technical reports, and performance tracking tools.
- Establish alarm management processes, escalation procedures, and continuous monitoring practices.
- Develop predictive monitoring approaches to anticipate equipment issues and support proactive maintenance planning.
- Apply statistical analysis, process modeling, and performance data evaluation to guide operational decisions.
- Provide technical support and training to operators, engineering teams, service personnel, and customers.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for treatment processes, automation systems, and remote monitoring solutions.
- Collaborate on future enhancements, including advanced analytics and machine learning capabilities for monitoring programs.
The ideal candidate combines strong water treatment knowledge with engineering expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to manage complex technical challenges across multiple facilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in water or wastewater treatment, process engineering, industrial automation, process optimization, or remote operations monitoring.
- Strong understanding of water treatment technologies, regulatory requirements, and processes including membrane systems, biological treatment, nutrient removal, and industrial applications.
- Experience analyzing operational data and implementing process improvements that increase performance, compliance, reliability, and efficiency.
- Proficiency with data analytics and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, and Excel.
- Knowledge of advanced process control, predictive analytics, or machine learning applications is considered an advantage.
- Ability to support remote operations, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively with technical and customer-facing teams.
