Position:
Electrical Engineer Specialist Sr.
Location:
Primarily Remote;
Will require periodic travel (including overnight travel) for site assessments, audits, and project support
Full Time; 1st Shift
Major Responsibilities:
- Enterprise Strategy & Leadership:
Develops, implements, and continuously advances a comprehensive enterprise electrical strategy, aligning infrastructure investments, safety programs, and technology roadmaps across all facilities. - Electrical Safety Program Ownership:
Leads and expands the organization's Electrical Safety Program, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. - Standards & Governance:
Establishes, governs, and enforces enterprise-wide electrical standards, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency, reliability, and compliance with applicable codes and regulations. - Regulatory Compliance & Auditing:
Ensures system-wide compliance with NFPA, NEC, OSHA, CMS, TJC, and other applicable standards through audits, arc flash assessments, and ongoing evaluation of processes and systems. - Capital Planning & Lifecycle Management:
Provides leadership in electrical capital planning, asset lifecycle management, and system modernization initiatives to improve reliability, efficiency, and long-term performance. - Technical Review & Engineering Oversight:
Reviews and approves complex power system studies, including arc flash, coordination, short circuit, and load flow analyses, ensuring technical accuracy and alignment with organizational goals. - Training & Organizational Engagement:
Drives training initiatives and collaborates with facility teams to enhance understanding of electrical safety, system performance, and resiliency concepts. - Incident Investigation & Continuous Improvement:
Leads electrical incident investigations, identifies root causes, and implements corrective and preventive actions to improve safety and system performance. - Maintenance Program Development:
Provides strategic direction for preventive and predictive maintenance programs, leveraging data and best practices to optimize system reliability. - Subject Matter Expertise & Innovation:
Serves as the enterprise electrical subject matter expert, supporting facility operations, capital projects, emerging technologies, power quality initiatives, and code interpretation.
Required:
- Valid U.S. Driver's License
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
Required:
- Experience in healthcare, critical infrastructure, or complex facility environments
- Experience leading or supporting technical projects, programs, or initiatives
Required:
- Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA
, and related standards - Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
, with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences - Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, One Drive)
Physical Requirements and
Working Conditions:
- Primarily remote-based role requiring strong self-direction, initiative, and time management
- Requires periodic travel (including overnight travel) for site assessments, audits, and project support
- Frequent virtual and occasional in-person presentations, training sessions, and stakeholder engagements
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification
Required:
- Professional Engineer or Interest in pursuing a Professional Engineer (PE) license in the future.
Education Required:
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Preferred Experience
Required:
- 5+ years of electrical engineering experience, including direct experience in healthcare or critical infrastructure environments
- Experience with power system modeling software
, CMMS platforms, and power monitoring systems - Familiarity with electrical testing practices and reliability-centered maintenance strategies
Required:
- Working knowledge of NFPA 99, NFPA 101
, and other healthcare-related codes and standards - Strong collaboration skills with vendors, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders
- Ability to lead enterprise-wide initiatives and drive organizational change
