Controls Engineer
This local custom machine builder is looking for a controls engineer who will be developing, and commissioning controls systems from cradle to grave, along with troubleshooting and resolving machine issues and keeping projects on track.
Looking for a motivated self starter who enjoys working in a fast paced environment.
25% travel
- 3-5 day trips typically, scheduled in advance
- No weekend travel, m-f only

Flexible work hours
- Can have some work from home flexibility if communicated
- Design, develop, and program PLC based control systems
- Configure, program, and integrate HMI applications to provide intuitive operator interfaces and effective system monitoring.
- Commission control systems, including start-up, testing, tuning, and validation
- Troubleshoot and resolve machine control system issues
- Support electrical and robotics integration activities as part of the overall automation solution, coordinating with cross-functional teams as needed.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- 3+ years of experience in the automation industry
- Hands on experience with PLC programming
- Robotics experience is preferred but not required
Highly collaborative, with approximately 10 other Controls Engineers on the programming team and three supervisors providing guidance and support.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Walker, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
