Accenture Infrastructure & Capital Projects
You've never been satisfied with "good enough." You want to make an impact, not just manage projects, but change how the world gets built. At Accenture Infrastructure & Capital Projects, you'll do exactly that. You'll help develop and deliver the factories, grids, transit systems, and public infrastructure that keep communities moving - and do it smarter, safer, and more sustainably than ever before.
You'll work alongside people who think big and act bold - project managers, engineers, technologists, and strategists who blend real-world experience with digital innovation and AI. Together, we're transforming how capital projects are planned, managed, and executed, creating a better way to build for the future.
Because "good enough" builds the past. You're here to build what's next, on a team that outperforms every norm.
The work:
- You'll serve as the single point of contact and delivery owner for assigned electric infrastructure project(s), from scope development through construction closeout — coordinating engineering, construction, permitting, contractors, and utility stakeholders.
- You'll lead the planning, execution, and delivery of substation and transmission/distribution line projects, including regular site visits to monitor progress and resolve field issues directly with contractors.
- You'll report on scope completion and deviations, project schedules, and budgets — including monthly forecasting, variance analysis, financial controls, and risk mitigation plans.
- You'll develop and maintain integrated project schedules with multiple dependencies using MS Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent tools, with support from a Project Controls analyst.
- You'll support contractor selection, contract preparation, procurement, and materials management, and provide day-to-day oversight of contractor performance.
- You'll monitor and coordinate project schedules throughout design and construction; oversee technical accuracy, efficiency, coordination, and constructability.
- You'll ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and utility requirements; review construction documents and deliverables for compliance with approved scope and budget.
- You'll communicate regularly with Accenture leadership, PG&E management, critical project partners, and public-sector stakeholders — including preparing project updates and formal presentations for senior leadership.
- You'll develop interface management strategies across multiple, concurrent projects and provide the framework for reporting and control systems.
- You'll identify and implement innovative processes that reduce cost and/or schedule without compromising safety or quality.
- You mentor and provide guidance to less-tenured project managers on the account team.
Flexible: this role follows a hybrid model — a mix of remote work, on-site time at Client's facilities in the Bay Area / Central Coast region (including regular field site visits), and collaboration at an Accenture office or center. As with all our roles, some in-person time is expected for collaboration, learning, and relationship-building with clients, peers, and leaders.
Here's what you'll need:
- 10+ years of direct project management experience on electric transmission, substation, distribution and/or comparable heavy civil/utility infrastructure projects
- Demonstrated experience managing projects through a formal utility gate/stage process from a client-facing or consulting capacity. PG&E experience is strongly preferred.
- Professional experience with MS Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent scheduling tools; familiarity with SAP Financials / Work Management modules a plus.
- Strong knowledge of cost management, budget forecasting, and risk management/mitigation practices, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus, particularly for substation or transmission line scopes.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate or ability to obtain it within 6 months is a plus
