Pay: $27-$29/hour
Duration: 1 year
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, with overtime as needed
Work Arrangement: Hybrid, with work from home 3-4 days per week
Job DescriptionThe Mechanical Drafting/CAD Technician II will support a global drafting department by creating, revising, and maintaining electronic drawing files using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD for custom-designed process equipment used at manufacturing locations worldwide.
The role will assist the area drafting lead in completing engineering and development drawing sets prior to release into Autodesk Vault. Responsibilities include creating 3D models and associated drawings, editing existing models and drawings, and ensuring all work follows company drafting standards. Typical drawing types include detail, sheet metal, weldment, and assembly drawings. This position does not include new design activity.
Responsibilities- Correct redlined models and drawings issued by drafting leads or engineering/development teams
- Convert legacy hand-drawn and AutoCAD drawings into 3D models and associative drawings
- Create 2D drawings from existing 3D models
- Collect data from engineering teams and incorporate information into appropriate drawings
- Collect measurements and information from the production floor for incorporation into drawings
- Maintain accuracy and consistency with company drafting standards and guidelines
- Support drawing storage and release processes through Autodesk Vault
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in mechanical drafting
- Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault
- Working knowledge of ASME/ANSI drafting standards
- Experience with 2D and 3D mechanical drafting
- A.A.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology
- A.O.S. degree in Drafting/CAD
- Drafting certificate or certification
- Experience converting legacy drawings into 3D models and associative drawings
- Experience with detail, sheet metal, weldment, and assembly drawings
- Experience supporting manufacturing or process equipment environments
- Candidates without a degree may be considered with demonstrated proficiency in 2D and 3D drafting
