Mechanical Project Manager
This Mechanical Project Manager role focuses heavily on project management for HVAC and MEP initiatives that are already in progress. The position requires strong oversight skills to take ownership of existing projects midstream, provide technical guidance in HVAC, and support sustainability-focused programs and construction activities across a broad network. The role has a front-end emphasis, helping to plan, coordinate, and execute HVAC-related projects, including new construction, end-of-life replacements, and network-wide rollouts.
Responsibilities- Provide strong project management oversight for multiple HVAC and MEP projects that are already underway, ensuring continuity and effective execution.
- Quickly assess the current status of ongoing projects and seamlessly assume responsibility midstream, maintaining schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Lead and coordinate HVAC-related initiatives across a broad network, including site support, troubleshooting HVAC issues, and managing new construction and end-of-life HVAC replacement projects.
- Contribute to the planning and front-end design of HVAC projects, working closely with stakeholders to define scope, requirements, and implementation strategies.
- Create, test, and support the rollout of HVAC solutions and network-wide programs, ensuring they meet technical specifications and operational needs.
- Collaborate with sustainability teams to integrate energy-efficient and environmentally responsible HVAC solutions into project plans.
- Coordinate construction management and project activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and communication among cross-functional teams.
- Provide people leadership as a TIPM L6-level manager in an HVAC subject matter expert capacity, supporting team performance and project outcomes.
- Monitor project risks and issues related to HVAC systems and construction activities, and develop mitigation plans to keep projects on track.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, milestones, and any changes in scope.
- Support site operations teams with HVAC-related concerns, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on ongoing activities.
- Ensure all project documentation, reporting, and coordination tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Proven project management experience with a heavy focus on overseeing multiple concurrent projects.
- Strong HVAC technical knowledge and experience, with the ability to serve as a subject matter expert.
- Mechanical and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) skills relevant to HVAC and construction projects.
- Experience stepping into projects that are already in progress and successfully managing them midstream.
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective oversight, including schedule management, budget tracking, and quality control.
- Background in construction management and project coordination for building systems and infrastructure.
- Experience in a TIPM L6-level people manager role or comparable leadership position in an HVAC-focused environment.
- Ability to work in a front-end project role, contributing to planning, design, and early-stage execution.
- Strong communication and coordination skills for working across multiple sites and stakeholder groups.

- Experience supporting sustainability programs and integrating energy-efficient HVAC solutions into projects.
- Familiarity with site support operations, including diagnosing and resolving HVAC issues in active facilities.
- Experience with new construction and end-of-life HVAC replacement projects in a multi-site or network environment.
- Capability to contribute to the creation, testing, and rollout of standardized HVAC solutions across a network.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and construction stakeholders.
- Interest in a role with the potential for long-term extension based on performance.
- Capacity to start quickly and adapt rapidly to existing project structures and processes.
The role offers flexibility, with the option for fully remote work and a preference for candidates located near an office. Ideal locations include the Nashville area, Seattle, or New York City, with the ability to go into an office considered a strong advantage. Travel requirements are very limited. The work environment centers on managing HVAC and MEP projects across a broad network, collaborating with construction and sustainability teams, and supporting site operations.
The position involves typical professional office and remote work settings, using standard project management tools and communication technologies to coordinate activities across multiple sites.
This is a Contract position based out of Nashville, TN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $55.00 - $57.00/hr.
