Job Description

  • Maintain on‑site and off‑site inventory of spare parts and ensure an adequate supply of chemicals and replacement parts.
  • Carry out mechanical, electrical and controls troubleshooting on equipment such as valves, air compressors, ejectors, process pumps, blowers, and instrumentation.
  • Determine and track root cause failures of all Veolia equipment, ensuring issues are documented using Veolia’s quality process.
  • Create and maintain site paperwork, write weekly warranty service reports on site actions, and provide customers with detailed technical summaries of work performed.
  • Provide timely, proactive response to customer needs pertaining to parts replacement, operation services, and technical issues related to plant operations.
  • Troubleshoot issues, perform emergency repairs, and provide quick turnaround quotes for equipment and spares.
  • Manage relationships with client operators and facility engineers, and consult with customer management and operation teams.
  • Act as a liaison and facilitate direct communication between the site/Customer Operations, Veolia home offices, and the engineering team.
  • Work with the engineering team in the office for technical expertise (i.e., RO pump retrofit program, process engineering support, etc.).
  • Carry out research to identify problems and engage the right people who can provide quick technical solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Provide preventative maintenance and services to the client to supplement the operations team, understand and develop Veolia preventative maintenance procedures and plans, and track, recommend, and update these procedures.
  • Complete daily site walks to schedule preventive maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with on‑site trades regarding the Veolia scope of work, and coordinate trades for the installation of any/all water technologies.
  • Organize and schedule team members, field operations teams, suppliers, or vendors to be on‑site in contractual time to perform maintenance or complete on‑site activities.
  • Ensure contract compliance of volume and quality specifications.
  • Provide construction and commissioning support for ongoing projects.
  • Responsible for daily reporting to the ES NAM Field Operations Manager.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the Water Treatment field.
  • Strong focus on customer relationships (both external and internal customers), understanding the balance between customer and VEOLIA teams.
  • Knowledge of and/or demonstrated ability to learn equipment and process startup related to VEOLIA WTS products and systems, including RO/ED, Ion Exchange, and Thermal technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and remotely with project teams.
  • Basic water treatment chemistry knowledge and the ability to communicate that information to others.
  • Knowledge of structural, mechanical, hydraulics, electrical, piping, welding specifics and civil notations.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Valid passport.
  • Ability to travel (10%) throughout North America.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in commissioning, construction or services.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or an equivalent from an accredited university or college.
  • Mechanical experience and know‑how (hands‑on, reading and interpreting drawings, etc.), particularly with water treatment equipment such as pumps, valves, instrumentation, relief valves, regulators, and pneumatic systems.
  • Electrical experience and know‑how (hands‑on, reading and interpreting drawings, etc.), particularly with electrical panels and water treatment equipment.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new problems, clients, and situations.
  • Training in lock‑out/tag‑out procedures preferred.
