Arcadis is looking for a Project Air Quality Engineer to join the Integrated Sustainability and Compliance (ISC) team in Tampa. The role will be hybrid, splitting time between the Arcadis office, remote work, and client site visits.

Role Accountabilities

This role covers a wide range of air‑quality services for clients in manufacturing, automotive, chemical, transportation, oil & gas. The focus is on air quality but also includes other environmental compliance projects such as compliance auditing, waste management, stormwater permitting and SPCC plans.

  • Apply knowledge of federal and state (Southeast focus) air‑quality regulations to permitting and compliance projects.
  • Assist clients with permitting and routine reporting (certifications, emissions tracking, deviation reports, MACT, dispersion modeling).
  • Prepare air permit applications (Permits‑by‑Rule, minor NSR, FESOP, Title V, PSD, Non‑Attainment NSR).
  • Collaborate with Arcadis air team leaders to apply regulatory knowledge and ensure project delivery.
  • Perform emissions calculations for regulated air pollutants and GHGs for emission inventories, Toxics Release Inventories and Tier II.
  • Support client and proposal development activities.

Travel to clients up to 10–20% of the time may be required, including short overnight trips. Preferred to work in office two days per week.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • Minimum seven years’ experience in air‑quality with strong background in emission calculations and permitting.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemical or environmental engineering or related field.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree.
  • EIT or PE registration.
  • Experience with AERMOD dispersion modeling.
