Overview/
Summary:
We are seeking a Mid-Level Plumbing Designer to support the design and execution of plumbing systems for advanced industrial facility projects. This position will independently perform plumbing design assignments, develop construction-ready designs, coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams, and provide field support to document existing conditions and assist during construction.
- Develop plumbing designs and construction documents for industrial and advanced facility projects.
- Design building plumbing systems including sanitary waste and vent, domestic hot and cold water, and stormwater systems.
- Independently perform design assignments with general technical guidance for unusual or complex issues.
- Coordinate plumbing designs with other engineering disciplines, project management, clients, and construction teams.
- Support building system coordination, including clash detection and clash resolution.
- Conduct site visits to document existing plumbing conditions and provide support during construction.
- Develop designs using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Apply applicable plumbing codes and design standards throughout project execution.
- 10+ years of practical plumbing design experience, or 5+ years with an Associate's degree in a related technical discipline.
- Experience designing waste and vent, domestic hot and cold water, and stormwater systems for buildings.
- Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD.
- Working knowledge of applicable plumbing codes.
- Understanding of clash detection, clash resolution, and multidisciplinary building system coordination.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary design teams, clients, and construction personnel.
- Strong interest in building design and construction.
- Industrial facility design experience, preferably supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing or similar environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to quickly learn new concepts, tools, and industry best practices.
- Forward-thinking mindset with an interest in contributing innovative design solutions.
