The Role
Jedson Engineering is seeking an experienced Process Mechanical Engineer to support projects within the Consumer Products manufacturing sector, with a specific emphasis in the paper making industry. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineering professional who thrives in both design and field environments and enjoys working closely with production and operations. This will be a remote role to support client projects in the Oxnard and greater California area.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop process and mechanical engineering designs for Consumer Products manufacturing systems, equipment, and facilities.
- Conduct on-site assessments at manufacturing plants as needed to gather data, validate designs, troubleshoot issues, and support installation or commissioning activities.
- Prepare detailed engineering calculations, equipment specifications, P&IDs, layouts, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary engineers, project managers, and plant personnel to ensure project success.
- Support project planning, schedule coordination, and design reviews.
- Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards, and Jedson Engineering work processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical or related discipline).
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in process engineering.
- Strong background in Consumer Products manufacturing - equipment, utilities, and process systems.
- Ability and willingness to be on-site at Oxnard area manufacturing facilities as needed.
- Proficiency with engineering software and tools (AutoCAD, Fathom, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and field troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a consulting engineering or EPC environment.
- Experience in the paper making or related industries.
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
