We have an exciting opportunity for a Microelectronic/Semiconductor Technologist to join our compound semiconductor microelectronics team supporting the Heterojunction Bipolar Transistor and High Voltage Diode MESA products. We work in a highly collaborative teaming environment to develop new custom application‑specific circuits with direct, relevant impact to our national security mission. The selected candidate will perform a wide variety of microfabrication processing activities in a Class 10 compound semiconductor fabrication facility including but not limited to: metrology, photolithography, wet and dry etch, metal evaporation and electroplating, thin film deposition, wafer thinning and die singulation.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Perform low‑variability, well‑characterized manufacturing processes required for qualified component delivery to our customers.
- Deliver on negotiated project commitments.
- Work with senior staff to develop innovative new processes to meet emerging technology needs.
- Maintain documentation and statistical process controls.
- Actively support failure analysis and root cause investigations for process and equipment excursions.
- Collaborate and team with MESA Micro Fab Operations personnel and other Sandia technical staff.
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.
Salary Range$74,700 - $144,400
- Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
- Associates degree in STEM field plus (1) or more years of directly related experience or;
- HS diploma plus four (4) years of semiconductor processing or laboratory process experience
- Ability to acquire and maintain a DOE L clearance
- Experience with compound semiconductor processing
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Ability to prioritize work while supporting multiple project
- Proven ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment
