As a Sustainability Intern, you'll support the Sustainability Team at our Corporate Environmental Home Office with regulatory research, data collection and analysis, developing tools and resources, preparing and presenting training, and tracking trends. As you continue pursuing your degree during the school year, we'll support you by offering real world experience at one of North America's largest and most respected construction and engineering organizations.

We would like the intern to be in Omaha, NE, however, for an exceptional candidate we would consider remote.
Responsibilities- Support the Home Office Environmental department with regulatory research
- Keep abreast of sustainability legislation, news, and regulations and conduct regulatory research development
- Assist with conference calls and training
- Assist with electronic solutions and data input to track company sustainability performance
- Assist with preparation and presentation of environmental training
- Assist with corporate Greenhouse Gas Inventory and other sustainability metric development around waste, water, and biodiversity
- Overall department support and duties as assigned
- Pursuing a degree in Environmental Science or related field in Environmental Compliance or Engineering
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Detail oriented, flexible and highly motivated
- Strong work ethic and professional demeanor
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and accurately
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Team player but able to work independently to meet intense deadlines, goals and objectives
- Willingness and flexibility to travel, as needed
- Ability to work 30-40 hours in the summer and 5-20 hours during the school year
- Regular, reliable attendance
- Work productively and meet deadlines timely
- Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
- Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
- Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
