Role Description

The Service Engineer role is a full-time, hybrid position based in Greenwood, IN, with some flexibility for work-from-home tasks such as documentation, planning, and remote support. Day-to-day responsibilities include installing, commissioning, and maintaining CNC machine tools and related automation systems at customer sites, as well as diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and control system issues. The Service Engineer will perform preventive maintenance, repair, calibration, and upgrades, while documenting service activities and maintaining accurate records.

The role also involves collaborating with engineering and sales teams to support custom solutions, training customers on proper machine operation, and providing clear technical guidance. The Service Engineer will prioritize safety, uphold quality standards, and deliver professional, customer-focused service in the field and remotely.

Qualifications
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in industrial equipment, CNC machine tools, or manufacturing systems.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and basic PLC or CNC diagnostics is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and service manuals.
  • Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in field service or technical support environments.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
  • Comfort working independently, managing time, and prioritizing multiple service tasks.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites within the region and occasionally beyond, as needed.
  • Commitment to safety practices and adherence to company and customer site procedures.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, mechatronics, or related field; equivalent military or industry experience considered.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, automation, or machine tool service is a plus.
