Opportunity Overview
Senior Metering Project Engineer – E&C position based in Florida. Locations:
West Palm Beach, FL or Daytona/Sanford FL. Hybrid schedule with remote work and ~10% travel. 1‑year contract (W‑2).
You will serve as the Technical Metering Project Manager/Engineer, overseeing metering systems for renewable design and construction. Responsibilities include ensuring all metering activities meet project requirements and align with commercial agreements, spanning from concept development through construction and commissioning. You will collaborate with engineering, development, business management, transmission services, and external team members. Experience in substation design and complex metering systems is required.
You will report to the onsite Manager.
- Provide engineering design support
- Track and report on project contractual execution and design progress
- Deliver company standards and policies, supporting the organization
- Prepare communications and presentations, and assist at meetings
- Create research and develop improvement measures
- Work with other departments to establish customer requirements
- Possibly work extended hours
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 15+ years of relevant P&C/Substation/Metering Engineering experience and Project Management
- 3+ years of experience in related roles
- Ability to read protection and control drawings
- Understanding of instrument transformers (type, accuracy, burden: CT, PTs, CVTs)
- Familiarity with Schneider Electric ION‑8650 meters and meter‑to‑meter (peer‑to‑peer) schemes
- Knowledge of loss compensation methods for transformers, including iron and copper losses, generator tie‑line loss compensation, and sharing losses among technologies or PPA customers
- Ability to program meters or create metering templates

Base salary range for this position, dependent on experience, qualifications, and skills, is estimated at $65.00/hr to $70.00/hr.
