About the role
We’re looking for a Substation Project Engineer on behalf of our client. This is a 1‑year contract assignment (W‑2). The Engineering & Construction Business Unit is looking for a Substation Project Engineer to join their team in Juno Beach Office, FL. You will lead a team of engineers and technical specialists that perform engineering functions. You are responsible for all assigned renewable generation substation projects from conception (Early Stage) through construction and commissioning (Execution).
You will evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform tasks or sequences of tasks for conventional renewable generation substation projects. This Substation Project Engineering position will occasionally require driving to multiple renewable generation substation projects across Florida. You will report to the onsite manager.

Juno Beach, FL preferred but open to Remote.
- In the conceptual phase, work with the Early‑Stage Project Manager to support the engineering requirements and scope with the Development Group. Projects can begin as FERC 1000 transmission project proposals, or as greenfield projects.
- Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
- Conduct project meetings and be responsible for project tracking and analysis.
- Provide information to internal and external clients on moderate to complex issues.
- Coordinate with other project team members to develop and secure a substation site, support any engineering updates, data and permits necessary to design and build the substation.
- Coordinate with other groups to ensure the assigned E&C renewable generation substation projects are successful. Represent E&C’s internal and external interests on assigned projects, including presentations/briefing on current progress, issues, and risk mitigation in meetings with various levels of management.
- Certified Professional Engineer (PE)
- Six Sigma Black Belt Certified
- Six Sigma Green Belt Certified
- Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil/Structural engineering
- 4+ years’ experience in substation design and engineering of high‑voltage substation projects is helpful.
- PMP and/or P.E. in related discipline. Some travel required within North America.

The base salary range for this position is estimated to be $45.00/hr to $50.00/hr, depending on experience, qualifications and skills.
