Play a key role in shaping the future of our power grid as an Electrical Engineer! In this role, you’ll prepare engineering plans, lead operational studies, and drive system improvements that keep our distribution network safe, reliable, and cost-effective. Your expertise will ensure innovative designs and efficient operations that make a real impact in the communities we serve.

Location:

Work for this position can be performed both on-site at our campus located at 14601 Ramsey Blvd, Ramsey, MN 55303, and from your local home office, as duties require. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements, hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota.

Compensation:

Anticipated hiring pay is $76,000 - $99,750. The final compensation offered is based on the selected candidate's qualifications, experience and skill level. In addition, this position is eligible for an annual bonus with a target payout of 8% based on company performance.

In this role, you will:

  • Ensure that Connexus members are provided with reliable, quality power. Respond to customer concerns regarding power quality (PQ). Collaborate with System Operations, Metering, and Construction & Maintenance to gather information related to PQ events.
  • Assist in providing conceptual layout for large commercial, industrial and residential developments to ensure the progression of such developments is constructed in an efficient manner.
  • Assist in integrating distributed energy resources (DER) into the Connexus Energy System to ensure reliability, power quality, and system safety are maintained.
  • Perform various studies and analyses to define projects to ensure system capacity, power factor, and voltage is adequate.
  • Assist in producing distribution system designs for system improvements projects and road construction projects to ensure the projects are in conformance to long range plans and integrated into the overall system plan.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical bulletins and standards documents related to proper engineering, design, construction, and/or maintenance practices.
  • Assist in the accurate modeling of the Connexus Distribution System to enable other analyses to be performed. Update the model and build future projects and scenarios within it as necessary.

Need to have:

  • Bachelor's in electrical engineering
  • Current and valid driver’s license

Nice to have:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a Power Systems emphasis
