Role Summary

We are seeking an expert level engineer to lead complex engineering work, establish technical standards, develop engineering talent, and serve as a senior technical authority.

Key responsibilities

  • Solve the most complex engineering problems independently.
  • Provide technical oversight across multiple complex engineering projects while guiding and mentoring engineers.
  • Define field walkdown methodologies and modeling strategies.
  • Serve as the technical authority for regulatory interpretation and engineering integrity.
  • Serve as the final QC authority for engineering analysis, design, and drawings.
  • Certify the completeness, accuracy, and technical integrity of engineering products; own engineering risk associated with projects and deliverables.
  • Advise senior leadership on technical matters and engineering strategy.
  • Identify employee knowledge gaps, establish engineering best practices, and develop and deliver internal technical training.
  • Identify gaps in product capabilities and recommend opportunities for product development and improvement.
  • Uphold and advance Valor’s safety-first culture.

Expertise in/ technical skills

  • Expert-level knowledge of oil and gas upstream, midstream, and production facilities, including compressor stations, production facilities, gas processing plants, SWDs, and pipelines.
  • Regulatory authority in EPA OOOOa/OOOO b regulations, state air regulations, and emerging regulatory frameworks.
  • Expert proficiency in developing and interpreting engineering drawings, including P&IDs, plot plans, and related facility drawings.
  • Proficient in Bluebeam and/or AutoCAD.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Promax and/or HYSYS modeling.
  • Technical authority for CVS walkdowns, including field methodology, data collection, and quality.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience
  • Legally entitled to work in the USA
  • Ability to travel to field locations across the USA
  • PE in Texas and Colorado
  • PE in New Mexico and/or Pennsylvania an asset
