We are partnered with a mission-driven environmental consulting firm focused on sustainability and environmental impact that's seeking an Air Quality Project Manager to join their growing team in Texas
. Their work focuses on supporting clients across traditional industries (oil&gas, petrochemical) as well as emerging sectors(data centers, renewables) to solve complex environmental challenges.
In this role, you will lead the technical delivery of air quality permitting and compliance projects while serving as a primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle. You will manage projects from initial scoping and proposal development through technical execution, regulatory review, and final delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to a high technical standard.
This is an opportunity for an experienced air quality professional looking for greater project ownership, client interaction, and autonomy within a collaborative technical team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Texas air permitting and compliance, excellent project management skills, and the ability to build trusted relationships with clients.
This position is hybrid in Texas or can be remote for individuals not located near an office.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead air quality permitting and compliance projects from initial scope through final deliverable, managing technical execution, schedules, budgets, and project objectives.
- Serve as the primary client point of contact, managing communication, expectations, project updates, and deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage projects involving NSR, PSD, Title V, PBRs, Standard Permits, emissions inventories, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop project scopes, work plans, budgets, schedules, proposals, and technical deliverables.
- Interpret and apply TCEQ and federal air quality regulations to develop effective permitting and compliance strategies.
- Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal technical teams to resolve complex permitting and compliance issues.
- Review technical work and deliverables for quality, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
- Identify project risks, manage changes in scope, and proactively communicate schedule, budget, and technical considerations to clients.
- Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance on air quality permitting and compliance projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Atmospheric Science, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in air quality consulting, permitting, and compliance.
- Strong experience with Texas air quality regulations and TCEQ permitting requirements.
- Experience with NSR, PSD, Title V, PBRs, Standard Permits, and emissions inventories.
- Project management experience, including scope, budget, schedule, and technical delivery.
- Strong client management and communication skills with the ability to manage relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to junior staff is a plus!
