We exist to make food the world loves. But we do more than that. Our company is a place that prioritizes being a force for good, a place to expand learning, explore new perspectives and reimagine new possibilities, every day. We look for people who want to bring their best — bold thinkers with big hearts who challenge one another and grow together.

Because becoming the undisputed leader in food means surrounding ourselves with people who are hungry for what's next.

The Senior Electrical & Controls Capital Engineer is responsible for providing technical and project engineering leadership in support of corporate-led capital projects, with primary accountability for electrical, controls, and automation scope. This position supports primarily North America manufacturing platforms and regions and partners closely with project managers, plant teams, and external engineering resources to deliver safe, reliable, and maintainable solutions. This is a remote eligible role.

This role plays a key part in translating business and operational needs into practical electrical and controls solutions, driving technical decision-making, and maintaining continuity across multiple active capital initiatives. The position requires strong technical capability, sound project judgment, and the ability to coordinate effectively across internal stakeholders and external partners to support safe and successful project delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing project management leadership on capital project installations with business teams and key stakeholders including scope definition, budget development, resource selection/management, and schedule management.
  • Providing Electrical & Controls technical leadership throughout the project life cycle including equipment/component selection and design, installation and commissioning support, startup readiness, and system performance improvement.
  • Leading or supporting electrical and controls scope development, design review, and execution support for capital projects across multiple sites and business initiatives.
  • Partnering with project managers to define scope, identify risks, develop execution strategies, and support delivery against project objectives, timelines, and budgets.
  • Serving as a key technical resource for electrical, controls, and automation decisions on assigned projects.
  • Collaborating with project teams, matrix engineers, plant engineering, operations, maintenance, IT, and internal/external technical resources to assess opportunities for application of innovative designs, performance improvements, technical advantages, speed to market, and capital efficiencies, ensuring optimum business value is achieved during capital project activity.
  • Reviewing and coordinating design work completed by external engineering firms, programming partners, system integrators, OEMs, and contractors.
  • Ensuring technical solutions align with plant standards, corporate standards, safety requirements, operational needs, and long-term maintainability.
  • Supporting development and implementation of electrical distribution, motor control, instrumentation, controls architecture, network considerations, equipment integration, and startup strategies.
  • Coordinating with plant operations, maintenance, engineering, IT, and project stakeholders to align tie points, shutdown planning, startup readiness, and handoff requirements.
  • Supporting resolution of technical issues during project execution and startup to protect schedule, quality, and operational readiness.
  • Assisting with contractor and vendor coordination, including technical reviews, submittals, FAT/SAT planning, field issue resolution, and commissioning support.
  • Contributing to estimate development, scope clarification, technical bid review, and assessment of external support needs.
  • Maintaining clear technical documentation and capturing lessons learned for future projects.

Travel is required, including some extended time possibilities over weekends and holidays. Travel is variable ranging from 25% to 100% during project execution and start-up, with an overall average of approximately 50%.
