Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Scheduler for a contract engagement running from September through the end of February
.
This is a hybrid role involving remote work from home with occasional site travel leading up to execution, followed by full-time, 100% on-site presence during the active execution phase. The position will focus on building, managing, and updating the detailed schedule for a 21-day facility turnaround/outage scheduled for mid-January
.
Outage Schedule Development: Create, maintain, and analyze a Level 5 schedule (4- to 8-hour shift schedule activities) utilizing Primavera P6.
Integration: Integrate various contractor schedules with internal facility maintenance and IT activities into a cohesive master plan.
Progress & Performance Tracking:
Implement resource-based activity tracking using estimated effort hours / installed quantities.
Track and report daily site headcount against the planned effort-hour baseline.
Produce and update S-curves and progress curves (including early/late finish baselines) for leadership reporting.
Outage Execution Support: Provide accurate daily schedule updates and reporting for end-of-day shift turnover and management alignment meetings.
Risk & Opportunity Forecasting: Interrogate and analyze the schedule to identify potential delays, critical path changes, risks, and mitigation opportunities, communicating findings clearly to project leadership.
Duration: September through late February.
Travel /
Location:Pre-Outage: Remote work from home with up to 50% travel for periodic site visits (coordinated with the Project Manager).
Outage Execution (Mid-January): Full-time on-site presence required for the entire 21-day execution window, including working flexible/extended outage shift hours as needed.
Software: High proficiency in Primavera P6
.Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of Instrument & Electrical (I&E) workflows and controls scope (with general knowledge of mechanical work).
Estimating & Validation: Ability to independently develop or validate effort-hour estimates for defined work tasks.
Schedule Analysis: Proven ability to analyze, forecast, and clearly report schedule performance metrics to site leadership and management.
Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust working hours and travel schedule based on project phases and site needs.
