Industrial Analyst, Modeling and Simulation
The Industrial Analyst, Modeling and Simulation, with minimal supervision, leads simulation modeling projects. They shall lead direct discussion with client SMEs and IPS architects and engineers to understand facility and process questions and concerns regarding material flow, personnel flow, utilization, space constraints, bottlenecks, etc. Develop and implement a simulation model design to answer these questions utilizing Any Logic simulation software. Models and findings are then presented internally and/or to the client.
Projects are world-wide in support of all IPS sites. This can be a remote position should a candidate not be local to any of our US based regional offices.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
- Work directly with clients and IPS staff to develop Anylogic simulations models of material and personnel movements through facilities, utilization of resources, turn-around times, equipment failures and repair times, and bottleneck identification. Models may include:
- Processing Rooms
- Material handling equipment
- Warehouse racking / ASRS / conveyor systems
- Shipping / receiving docks
- Locker rooms
- Airlocks and transitions
- Capture and communicate baseline model data.
- Develop "what-if" experiments and compare results to baseline model.
- Identify and communicate required data for accurate simulations.
- Develop a library of standard modeling elements for ease of use in future models.
- Contribute simulation data to Concept and Basic Design reports including assumptions, calculations and results, and a written narrative.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of simulation modeling experience.
- Minimum of 3 years experience developing in Java, C, C++, or C#.
- Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in industrial and systems engineering, systems engineering, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field from an accredited university.
- Proven experience leading simulation modeling designs.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
Context and Environment and Safety
