About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Drilling Fluids Engineer to join their dynamic, fully remote team, supporting global drilling operations. This critical role focuses on ensuring the effective and efficient performance of drilling fluid systems under diverse geological conditions. You will provide expert technical guidance, develop optimized fluid programs, and troubleshoot complex challenges encountered during well construction worldwide. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned fluids specialist to leverage their expertise and contribute significantly to project success from the comfort of their home office.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and manage drilling fluid programs tailored to specific well objectives and geological formations.
- Monitor drilling fluid performance remotely, analyzing data to ensure optimal rheology, density, and chemical properties.
- Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting for drilling fluid-related issues encountered by rig crews globally.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and best practices for drilling fluid management and disposal.
- Conduct laboratory testing and analysis to validate fluid properties and develop new fluid formulations when necessary.
- Collaborate with drilling engineers and operational teams to integrate drilling fluid planning with overall well design and execution.
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemistry, or a closely related scientific field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience as a Drilling Fluids Engineer, with a strong track record in diverse drilling environments.
- In-depth knowledge of drilling fluid chemistry, rheology, and additive functionalities.
- Familiarity with solids control equipment, mud mixing systems, and related technologies.
- Strong understanding of drilling hydraulics, wellbore stability, and formation damage mechanisms.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and effectively in a remote setting.
