Position OverviewWe are seeking a Junior MEP Project Engineer to support building systems design projects throughout New Jersey.
This role is ideal for an early-career engineer or technically-minded professional who wants hands-on exposure to MEP consulting, design development, site surveys, and construction administration. You will work closely with senior team members while developing your technical capabilities and understanding of real-world building systems design.
What You'll Do- Assist with Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing design projects
- Develop and modify AutoCAD drawings
- Participate in site surveys and field investigations
- Gather and document existing building conditions
- Support HVAC, plumbing, and electrical system design efforts
- Coordinate with senior engineers on project deliverables
- Review contractor submittals and project documentation
- Participate in construction administration activities as needed
- Learn company drafting standards and MEP design methodologies
Required:
- 1-3 years of experience supporting MEP design projects involving mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing building systems
- Ability to work collaboratively within a small team environment.
- Understanding of or interest in building systems design within commercial, healthcare, multifamily, institutional, or related environments
- Willingness to perform site surveys and field investigations
- Ability to climb ladders, access rooftops, inspect above-ceiling spaces, and work in active building environments when required
- Desire to learn and grow within a collaborative engineering team
- Exposure to mechanical, plumbing, or electrical building systems.
- Experience with in an MEP consulting, engineering consulting, facilities, construction, architecture, or building design environment
- Associate's degree, technical degree, engineering degree, engineering coursework, or equivalent practical experience.
- Internship or co-op experience related to MEP, building systems, facilities, construction, or engineering design.
- Construction administration or field survey experience.
This is primarily an onsite position based in our Succasunna, NJ office. Engineers collaborate closely with one another while supporting projects throughout New Jersey. While remote work flexibility exists for site survey scheduling, project-related travel, weather events, and occasional business needs, this is not a regularly scheduled hybrid position. Our team works together in-office and values the collaboration, mentorship, and problem-solving that comes from being in the same environment.
