Position OverviewWe are seeking an MEP Project Engineer to support the design and delivery of building system projects across a diverse portfolio that includes multifamily residential, healthcare, commercial, hospitality, office, retail, and institutional facilities.
This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving real-world building challenges and wants exposure to the full project lifecycle. You'll work directly with experienced engineers, architects, developers, and contractors while contributing to projects from initial site surveys through design, construction support, and project completion
What You'll Do- Design building systems for a variety of project types, including multifamily residential, healthcare, commercial, retail, hospitality, and institutional facilities
- Develop and modify construction documents using AutoCAD
- Participate in site surveys and field investigations to document existing conditions
- Translate survey information into practical building system designs
- Coordinate with architects, developers, contractors, and project stakeholders throughout project execution
- Support projects from design through construction and project closeout
- Review contractor submittals and construction documentation for conformance with project requirements
- Participate in construction administration and field observation activities as needed
- Contribute to projects ranging from renovations and tenant improvements to large-scale new construction developments
Required:
- 3-8 years of MEP design experience involving mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing building systems.
- AutoCAD experience
- Experience developing building system designs and construction documents
- Ability to independently manage project responsibilities and progress work from design through delivery
- Willingness to perform site surveys and field investigations
- Ability to work in field environments, including rooftops, mechanical rooms, and above-ceiling spaces when required
- Experience with mechanical, plumbing, and/or electrical building systems
- Revit experience or exposure
- Experience with in an MEP consulting, engineering consulting, architecture, construction, facilities, or building design environment
- Experience coordinating directly with architects, contractors, developers, or building owners
- EIT certification, engineering degree, technical degree, or equivalent practical experience.
This is primarily an onsite position based in our Succasunna, NJ office. Engineers collaborate closely with one another while supporting projects throughout New Jersey.
While remote work flexibility exists for site survey scheduling, project-related travel, weather events, and occasional business needs, this is not a regularly scheduled hybrid position. Our team works together in-office and values the collaboration, mentorship, and problem-solving that comes from being in the same environment.
