The AES Group is seeking a Senior Digital Twin and BIM Consultant to define and implement a connected digital ecosystem for a large transportation infrastructure initiative.
The successful professional will bring extensive experience implementing Digital Twin and BIM solutions across bridges, highways, rail, airports, tunnels, transit systems, or other large civil infrastructure programs.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Digital Twin strategy, architecture, roadmaps, and implementation across planning, design, construction, operations, and asset management.
- Develop BIM Execution Plans aligned with ISO 19650 and model-based delivery standards.
- Establish and manage Common Data Environments for secure, multidisciplinary information exchange.
- Integrate BIM, GIS, reality capture, IoT sensors, and asset management information into a unified Digital Twin platform.
- Define use cases for visualization, environmental analysis, public engagement, 4D sequencing, 5D estimating, 6D asset management, and predictive maintenance.
- Create governance standards, workflows, data structures, and information management processes.
- Evaluate software architectures and recommend scalable Digital Twin platforms.
- Promote open BIM standards and consistent digital delivery practices.
- Mentor engineering and project teams on Digital Twin methodologies.
- Prepare executive presentations, implementation plans, and strategic recommendations.
- 10+ years of experience delivering Digital Twin, BIM, or digital engineering solutions.
- Experience supporting transportation or heavy civil infrastructure programs valued above $500 million.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 19650, BIM Execution Plans, Common Data Environments, information management, and digital delivery.
- Experience integrating BIM with GIS, IoT, reality capture, or asset management platforms.
- Understanding of engineering workflows across planning, design, construction, operations, and maintenance.
- Proven leadership, stakeholder management, presentation, and communication skills.
- Experience with several of the following:
- Bentley iTwin, Open Buildings, Project Wise, Open Roads Designer, or Synchro 4D
- Autodesk Construction Cloud, Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, Infra Works, or BIM 360
- Esri ArcGIS or Azure Digital Twins
- IoT platforms and sensor-based monitoring
- LiDAR, drones, laser scanning, and other reality-capture technologies
- BIM automation using Python or Dynamo
- Additional experience with climate modeling, infrastructure asset management, AI-enabled analytics, predictive maintenance, smart cities, open BIM, transportation standards, and public-sector programs is highly valued.
- A scalable Digital Twin framework supporting the full infrastructure lifecycle
- ISO 19650-aligned standards and BIM execution processes
- Strong governance and a reliable Common Data Environment
- Improved collaboration across engineering, construction, technology, and operations teams
- Digital capabilities supporting visualization, climate analysis, engagement, asset performance, and predictive maintenance
