Job Overview
The Standards Associate II, Circularity is responsible for the facilitation, development, and management of new standards, and for supporting the revision of existing standards to maximize their climate, environmental, and social outcomes. The Standards Associate II, Circularity focuses on the development of standards and assurance systems that are circularity-focused (recycling, carbon accounting) or otherwise outside the food and agriculture sectors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage the successful completion of standard revisions or launch of new standards
• Develop certification and accreditation requirements based on ISO 17065 or 17021 for existing and new standards
• Create long- and short-term timelines, including setting targets for milestones, adhering to deadlines, and communicating any changes to plans
• Communicate with clients on project status to keep client appraised on progress
• Facilitate formation, management, and output of standards development committees and working groups
• Collaborate with various SCS Global Services teams and other external technical experts on standard and program development
• Audit Certification Bodies against relevant standards
• Provide administrative support, as needed

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field and
• 2+ years of professional work experience and
• Experience working in circularity and
• Experience and Knowledge in best practice standards development processes
• Ability to engage and understand the needs of key stakeholders
• A strong track record of effectively managing complex projects
• Ability to work with limited technical knowledge on a wide range of topics (e.g., chain of custody, manufacturing, carbon accounting)
• Fluent in English and experience that involves professional written and verbal communication
• Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills
• Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills
• Ability to adapt to different work styles and changing situations
• Strong customer service and teamwork orientation
• Proficient with business software including Outlook, Word, Excel, and database management
• Initiative, good judgment, and ability to work independently under pressure in a changing environment

Working Remotely
SCS is recruiting all open roles to be remote; allowing our employees the ability to work flexibly and allowing SCS as a company to diversify the experience and perspectives of our growing workforce.
