About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their innovative team in a fully remote capacity. This role is pivotal in the conceptualization, design, and development of advanced mechanical components and systems. You will leverage your expertise to create robust, efficient, and manufacturable designs, contributing to cutting-edge products from your home office. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, possesses strong problem-solving abilities, and excels in collaborating with virtual teams to bring creative engineering solutions to fruition, embodying a commitment to excellence in a flexible, remote-first work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using advanced 3D CAD software, ensuring optimal functionality and manufacturability.
- Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs), adhering to industry standards and company protocols.
- Perform engineering analysis, including tolerance stack-ups and basic stress/thermal analysis, to validate design integrity and performance.
- Collaborate closely with remote cross-functional teams, including product managers, electrical engineers, and manufacturing specialists, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Participate actively in virtual design reviews, providing constructive feedback and contributing to problem-solving initiatives.
- Research and propose innovative design solutions, materials, and manufacturing processes to enhance product capabilities and efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in mechanical design and product development.
- Expertise in 3D CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, CATIA, Inventor) and familiarity with PDM/PLM systems.
- Solid understanding of material properties, manufacturing methods (machining, injection molding, etc.), and GD&T principles.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage tasks effectively, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly in a virtual environment.
