What Your Job Will Be Like:
We are seeking to hire an experienced engineer into a staff leadership role as Component Product Realization Team (PRT) Lead. As part of the Advanced Fuzing Technologies Group, you
¿ ll ensure the continued delivery of high rigor flight components---components that play a critical role in assuring the safety and security of our nation
¿ s nuclear deterrent in a wide range of scenarios. In this role, you
¿ ll collaborate with engineering and research teams across the broader Nuclear Security Enterprise and the DoW to produce, assess, troubleshoot, and drive continuous improvement for these components.
On any given day, you may be called upon to:
Lead staff and technologists towards key milestones for safety critical components of ND and DoW Systems
Utilize your expertise in engineering to field high-integrity products, meeting both technical and programmatic requirements
Employ analytical thinking to lead resolution of ambiguous problems with a multi-disciplinary team
Maintain the design intent of hardware through requirements negotiation and trade studies while engaging with relevant stakeholders.
Lead investigations and resolution of anomalies through analysis and testing
Present your work to peers, customers, and management in formal and informal settings
Use sound project management skills to provide structure to your PRT
¿ s activity level work so the team can prioritize and execute properly.
Identify project risk so that appropriate handling and mitigation strategies can be developed, communicated, and executed.
This position will offer you substantial opportunity for training, technical mentorship, and work across multiple programs.
Some travel is required.
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.
Salary Range:
$117,500 - $235,700
* Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require:
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and five (5) years of directly relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of directly relevant education and engineering or scientific experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform independent research and development
An active DOE Q clearance, or equivalent, is required to start
