We are seeking a Technology Systems Project Designer to join our team in Richmond, VA. In this role, you will design telecommunications networks, structured cabling, audio/visual systems, and electronic security systems for a variety of vertical building projects. You will work closely with senior Technology Systems staff and multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality designs while continuing to build your technical expertise.

What We're Looking ForCandidates should have 3-7 years of experience designing telecommunications networks, structured cabling systems, audio/visual systems, and electronic security systems for vertical building projects. Experience with in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry is required. An Associate's degree or higher in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred, although an equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
Proficiency in Autodesk Revit is required, including model setup, linking, navigation, and the ability to develop Technology Systems designs from project initiation through completion. Candidates should also be proficient with Microsoft Office and have the organizational and time-management skills needed to manage multiple assignments.
Strong communication and collaboration skills are important in this position. You will work regularly with other Technology Systems team members, engineering and architectural disciplines, subconsultants, and clients.
Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States and eligible to obtain a security clearance.
Experience with federal government projects is a plus. BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) or AVIXA CTS certification is also desirable, as is an interest in pursuing either certification as part of your professional development.
What You'll DoDesign telecommunications networks, structured cabling systems, audio/visual systems, and electronic security systems for a variety of vertical building projects.
Develop and coordinate Revit models and construction documents from design through completion.
Work with senior Technology Systems staff to deliver quality designs and continue developing your technical expertise.
Coordinate Technology Systems designs with architectural and other engineering disciplines.
Participate in client and project meetings to coordinate project scope and design requirements. Approximate travel is 10%-15%.
Help ensure work meets project quality standards, schedules, and budgets.
