Position: Electrical Estimator - Utility Scale Solar - Remote - Eastern / Central Time Zone

Overview

Paige Renewable Energy, a GCG company, is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our growing Paige Energy team and support utility-scale renewable energy projects across North America!

As our Electrical Estimator, you’ll translate customer drawings, specifications, bills of material, and project requirements into accurate, executable estimates. You’ll perform detailed material takeoffs, develop project pricing, identify scope or design issues, and work closely with Sales, Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain, and manufacturing partners to help ensure projects are positioned for successful execution.

This is a strong opportunity for someone who combines practical electrical knowledge with exceptional attention to detail and ownership. You should be comfortable working through large, complex project packages, asking thoughtful technical questions, challenging assumptions when something does not look right, and taking responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of your work.

While this role offers a remote work environment, we are seeking candidates in either the Eastern or Central Time Zone to align with the work schedule of the existing team.

What You’ll Do
  • Review RFQ packages, electrical drawings, site layouts, single-line diagrams, specifications, bills of material, and related documentation to understand project scope and requirements.

  • Perform detailed electrical material takeoffs, including cable lengths, harness and string counts, connectors, assemblies, accessories, and other project-specific materials.

  • Develop project estimates incorporating material costs, vendor pricing, freight, manufacturing costs, customer requirements, and other project-specific considerations.

  • Identify drawing discrepancies, missing information, scope gaps, incompatible materials, and other potential risks while clearly documenting assumptions, exclusions, and required clarifications.

  • Validate critical quantities, material selections, calculations, and drawing revisions before estimates are released.

  • Coordinate with Supply Chain and manufacturing partners to obtain and validate supplier pricing, lead times, freight requirements, and other cost inputs.

  • Support proposal development, design revisions, value-engineering opportunities, Best and Final Offer (BAFO) activities, and estimate revisions throughout the sales process.

  • Evaluate changes between estimate revisions and clearly communicate impacts to quantities, scope, cost, materials, and project requirements.

  • Maintain organized, traceable estimating files and supporting documentation that allow estimates to be independently reviewed.

  • Participate in project award and handoff activities, confirming that final estimates, quantities, assumptions, pricing, and scope align with the awarded project and customer purchase order.

  • Support estimating needs related to project changes, additional material requests, spare parts, and change orders.

  • Help improve estimating templates, tools, checklists, standards, and review processes by incorporating lessons learned from awarded and completed projects.

What You’ll Bring

Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of electrical estimating experience, or equivalent electrical construction or design experience that includes estimating and material takeoff responsibilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, site plans, specifications, and bills of material.

  • Experience performing detailed material takeoffs and developing project estimates.

  • Strong understanding of electrical materials, cable, conductors, connectors, and electrical distribution systems.

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency with…
