Seeking an experienced Exterior Lighting Engineer / Design Release Engineer (DRE) to support the design, development, validation, and release of automotive exterior lighting systems including headlamps, taillamps, CHMSL, fog lamps, and license plate lamps.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design and release activities for exterior lighting components.
- Develop and review lighting CAD models using CATIA V5, 3DX, and Teamcenter.
- Perform optical engineering and design-for-manufacturing activities.
- Support Build-to-Print (BTP) lighting development.
- Conduct GD&T reviews, packaging studies, and design validation.
- Create DFMEA, DVP&R, SCCAF, Boundary Diagrams, and P-Diagrams.
- Perform root cause analysis using 8D and 5 Why methodologies.
- Collaborate with suppliers, purchasing, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams.
- Support sourcing, testing, launch, and production activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in automotive lighting design, development, or release engineering.
- Experience with CATIA, Teamcenter, and CAD modeling.
- Knowledge of optical engineering, injection molding, and manufacturing processes.
- Hands-on laboratory testing and troubleshooting experience.
- Strong problem-solving, GD&T, and product development experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exterior lighting design and release experience.
- DFMEA, PFMEA, SCCAF, and Six Sigma knowledge.
- Mechatronics and CAE experience.
- Master's Degree preferred.
- 7+ years of related experience.
