Toeroek Associates, Inc. is seeking a Brownfields Program Coordinator to coordinate all phases of Targeted Brownfields Assessments in the western U.S. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive coordination of up to ten concurrent Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, supporting a team that assesses the nature and extent of contamination at Brownfields sites.

Periodic travel of up to 25% is required. Worksite locations are distributed across the western United States, including Hawaii and Alaska. Candidates must be geographically located within reasonable proximity of West Coast states in order to support operations and facilitate fieldwork.

Duties include
  • Provide comprehensive coordination of logistics, staffing, reporting, and deliverables across multiple active sites.
  • Oversee project managers, including cost estimates, work schedules, and staff assignments to maintain on-time and on-budget performance.
  • Provide oversight to field staff and subcontractors conducting site investigation and remediation projects for approximately 15 field sites located in the West region.
  • Ensure that project deliverables, milestones, and budgets are met.
  • Work closely with senior managers in the coordination of work activities to meet milestones, budgetary limits, deadlines, or other performance indicators.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with government customers and project partners.
  • Prepare, review, and submit well‑written technical reports in accordance with regulations, applicable guidance and policies, and internal quality control standards.
  • Conduct Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs).
  • Lead field activities, including soil, groundwater, sediment, and soil gas sample collection; geological logging and interpretation; and oversight of investigation and remediation subcontractors, including laboratories and excavation and drilling companies
  • Support providing soil and groundwater assessments, soil gas sampling, asbestos inspections, lead‑based paint assessments, geophysical surveys, and waste determinations
  • Prepare technical reports and other documents on topics associated with site characterization, remedial optimization, and remedy implementation
  • Recognize technical discrepancies in analytical results and making appropriate corrections following standard procedures
  • Provide support in organizing public meetings to address the findings of ESAs
Required Education/Experience

BS degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field with four years of practical experience related to environmental field sampling and two years as a field‑team lead. Preferred work experience with contaminated site characterization and remediation at contaminated sites, including Superfund, Brownfields, or RCRA Corrective Action sites. Strong knowledge of federal and state environmental laws and regulations under Federal (e.g., Superfund, RCRA, Brownfields), state, or other cleanup programs.

Experience with Phase I and Phase II ESAs and experience conducting quantitative analyses using Microsoft Excel
