Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Professional

Location:
San Diego, California

Occupational Services, Inc. (OSI) is seeking an experienced EHS Professional to join our San Diego team. This position will support clients across various industries by developing practical solutions that improve workplace safety, maintain regulatory compliance, and reduce environmental and occupational risks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement written safety programs, policies, procedures, and site-specific plans.
• Review and update existing safety programs to address regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Conduct workplace EHS inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Evaluate compliance with Cal/OSHA, environmental, and fire code requirements.
• Conduct incident investigations and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide employee safety training and technical guidance.
• Assist clients with hazardous materials management, emergency preparedness, and regulatory reporting.
• Prepare clear, professional reports, proposals, and client communications.
• Manage multiple projects while maintaining schedules, budgets, and high-quality deliverables.
• Build strong professional relationships with clients and regulatory agencies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental health, industrial hygiene, environmental science, or a related field.
• At least five years of professional EHS experience.
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing workplace safety programs.
• Working knowledge of Cal/OSHA regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple client projects.
• Strong attention to detail and sound professional judgment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in biotechnology or pharmaceuticals.
• Knowledge of hazardous materials, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, emergency response, and environmental compliance.
• Professional certification or progress toward certification, such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, or ASP.

Compensation: $85,000–$120,000 per year, depending on qualifications, experience, professional certifications, and relevant industry expertise. This position is also eligible for monthly bonus opportunities and OSI’s comprehensive benefits package.
