Production Engineer

Your role is to bring automated deposition and processing equipment into production and keep it there: the machines that build each board, and the line those stations sit on.

The work splits into equipment bring-up and commissioning, process development on the deposition, cure and sinter windows, the inspection and test that gates every unit, and the fixturing and transport that hold a build to takt.

You will commission the first machines on this line and stand up the quality systems beside them: gauges and test cells, maintenance and calibration schedules, machine safety, and the procedures the operators who follow will run from.

We are looking for manufacturing, industrial, mechanical or mechatronics engineers with experience and interest in commissioning automated production equipment, process capability and statistical methods, and inspection and test systems.

Every role works with our AI systems daily. What can be deterministic, must be. You need no AI background; we prefer people without one. We hire for your knowledge and experience in the field first, so you can steer the ship; the tooling is a learning curve we expect you to take on.

• Commissioning automated deposition and processing equipment: assembly, axis alignment, calibration, fluid supply, first-article qualification
• Process development on deposition, cure and sinter windows: design of experiments and capability studies
• Statistical process control: control charts, capability indices, gauge R&R, first-pass yield and scrap
• Inspection systems: inline layer monitoring with early abort, optical inspection, profilometry and layer thickness
• Electrical and functional test: continuity, impedance, embedded resistors, hardware-in-the-loop cells, disposition of failures
• Fixturing and handling: carriers, vacuum fixtures, feeders, and vision alignment for placed components
• Line layout and reliability: station sequence, takt, preventive maintenance, calibration, spares and failure analysis
• Machine safety and documentation: risk assessment, interlocks, lockout, travelers and work instructions

• A degree in manufacturing, industrial, mechanical or mechatronics engineering, or equivalent experience
• Hands-on commissioning or running of automated production equipment: surface mount, semiconductor, precision assembly or comparable
• Fluent with design of experiments, gauge R&R, control charts, capability indices and first-pass yield
• The judgment to take a yield loss back to its root cause from the data
• Ready to commission the first machines on a line and write the procedures operators run from
• Bonus: fixture and tooling design in CAD, machine safety and risk assessment, or 8D and FMEA

$100k to $250k base salary, plus equity
