Junior Engineer; EIT; Bridge Inspection

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Conduct safety inspections of bridges, overhead signs, dams, and tunnels, including field measurements and documentation using tablets.
• Use various methods and equipment such as mechanized access machinery, climbing, diving, drones, and sonar scanning devices for inspections.
• Prepare written technical reports, electronic drawings, structural analysis, load ratings, and repair/retrofit designs.
• Travel locally and occasionally across the United States for inspections and to support additional teams.
• Assist with preparation of scopes of work, fee proposals, and technical responses for proposal requests.
• Perform additional structural assessment-related duties as assigned.

The company is looking for:

• Bachelor of Science in Civil, Structural, or related Engineering discipline (ABET-accredited preferred).
• Ability to work constructively in a team environment, communicate professionally, and grow to supervise others.
• Willingness to attend bridge inspection training courses based on the FHWA Bridge Inspector's Reference Manual (BIRM) and maintain continuing education.
• Openness to out-of-state travel on short notice for emergency work.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) certification is a plus.
• Any NHI bridge inspection coursework or bridge inspection experience is a plus.
• Physical ability to perform bridge inspection tasks in various access conditions.
