** ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
*** Complete substation (Air & GIS) switchyard design packages encompassing operating single line diagrams, layouts, sections, bus calculation/selections, ground grid, cable tray/trench/duct bank, lighting, lightning protection, prefabricated control building layouts, AC/DC station service supply, voltage drop, conduit/cable tray fill, bill of materials, etc.
* Complete substation protection and control design packages including single line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, etc.
* Complete renewable energy collector system design packages such as medium voltage systems with switch gear, transformers, AC/DC inverters and power cables, AC/DC distribution systems, PV plants, battery energy storage systems, and wind turbines for both wind and solar projects
* Interface with internal and external team members including electrical engineers, electrical designers, drafters, project managers, and take ownership of the project to meet and exceed client expectations.
* Support development of standards, optimizations, and processes and provide execution plans with strong follow-through
** MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
*** Minimum of diploma or bachelors degree in drafting / electrical design
* 5+ years related experience in AutoCAD, Micro Station, Civil3D, and/or AutoCAD Map3D in power delivery (transmission and distribution systems for utilities or industrial), renewable energy, or power generation
* Strong CAD skills with experience utilizing layers, blocks, XREFs, coordinate systems, annotations, and dimensioning while abiding by company and industry drafting standards
* Must be authorized for full-time work in Canada
* Ability to work on multi-discipline projects
* Excellent time management and organization skills
* Excellent computer skills; proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook with advanced MS Office skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work cross-functionally to understand requirements, present alternatives, and make recommendations
* Ability to collaborate within a team environment
* Self-motivated and work with minimal guidance
* 3D Modeling experience a plus
* Experience with PVcase, PVCAD a plus
