LiDAR Specialist

1099 Contractor Remote/Office LiDAR/Mapping

Process and analyze airborne and terrestrial LiDAR point clouds tocreate high-accuracy DEMs, contours, 3D models, and other geospatialproducts for engineering and mapping projects.

As a LiDAR Specialist at LNM
1968, you'll process massive point cloud datasets from aerial and terrestrial laser scanning systems. You'llperform classification, filtering, DTM/DSM generation, feature extraction, and quality control to produce deliverables meetingASPRS and client specifications.

This technical role requires expertise in point cloud processing software and understanding of LiDAR sensor characteristics and data quality metrics.

• Process airborne and terrestrial LiDAR point clouds
• Classify point clouds (ground, vegetation, buildings,etc.)
• Generate DEMs, DSMs, and contours from LiDAR data
• Extract features and create 3D models
• Perform quality control and accuracy assessments
• Prepare technical reports and metadata
• Support mission planning and data acquisition

• Bachelor's degree in Geomatics, Geography, Forestry, or related field
• 3+ years experience with LiDAR data processing
• Proficiency with Terra Solid, Global Mapper, or similar software
• Knowledge of ASPRS positional accuracy standards
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Experience with multiple LiDAR sensor platforms
• Python or other scripting for automation
• Experience with ArcGIS and spatial databases
