Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Designer who can step in and hit the ground running. In this role, you will work independently to produce accurate, code-compliant 3D sprinkler system layouts, hydraulic calculations, and submittal packages for a wide variety of project types across Texas, Florida and nationwide.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, technically sharp, and capable of managing their own project workflows from initial design through final plan approval.
Key Responsibilities- System Design & Layout: Develop detailed 3D fire sprinkler layouts, riser diagrams, and fabrication drawings for wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge systems using industry-standard design software.
- Hydraulic Calculations: Perform fast, precise hydraulic calculations and water supply analyses to ensure optimal system performance and code compliance.
- Stocklisting & Submittals: Generate accurate material stock lists and assemble complete submittal packages for clients and local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
- BIM / Trade Coordination: Coordinate spatial layouts with architectural, structural, and MEP designs to resolve field clashes prior to fabrication.
- Code Compliance: Apply a strong working knowledge of NFPA standards (NFPA 13, 13R, 14, 20, etc.) and local building/fire codes to all drawing packages.
- Experience: 5+ years of dedicated fire sprinkler design experience; must be able to work independently with minimal oversight.
- Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with AutoSPRINK, HydraCAD, AutoCAD Fire Grid, or equivalent design software.
- Certifications: NICET Level II (or higher) in Water-Based Systems Layout is preferred, but equivalent hands-on experience and proven design capability will be strongly considered.
- Work Ethic: Strong time-management skills, high attention to detail, and the self-discipline to excel in a fully remote setup.
