Responsibilities

  • Liaise between internal sales, development, engineering, and procurement teams to align project objectives and execution plans.
  • Prepare and manage detailed project implementation plans and scopes of work across engineering, procurement, and construction disciplines.
  • Develop project cost estimates and track actual costs to maintain financial control and support accurate forecasting.
  • Assist in preparing responses to requests for proposals (RFPs) for customers, equipment suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate execution planning with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve optimal quality, safety, cost, and schedule performance.
  • Ensure all project activities comply with project design specifications, customer requirements, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Manage required permitting activities from initial project planning through project close-out.
  • Oversee the construction management team and subcontractors responsible for implementing construction projects, ensuring safety goals are consistently met.
  • Manage overall project schedules and budgets, including contract change orders and requests for information (RFIs).
  • Collaborate with procurement and engineering teams to resolve project issues and technical or logistical challenges.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and issues to internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Lead internal and external project meetings to communicate status, coordinate activities, and drive decision-making.
  • Manage relationships with clients, partners, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders to ensure alignment and customer satisfaction.
  • Support the delivery of energy resiliency, reliability, low carbon footprint, and economic value through creative and compelling project solutions.

Essential Skills

  • At least 5 years of project management experience, preferably with construction-related responsibilities in energy systems.
  • Proven experience managing multiple aspects of projects, including scope, budget, schedule, and permitting.
  • Strong background in project management and construction management within energy systems or related fields.
  • Bachelors degree required, preferably in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in MS Project for scheduling and project tracking.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, procurement, and construction.
  • Experience overseeing subcontractors and construction management teams to meet safety and performance goals.
  • Ability to develop and manage detailed project implementation plans, work scopes, and cost estimates.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for leading meetings and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Capability to monitor project progress and provide clear, timely reporting on issues and performance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with distributed energy resource projects, including combined heat and power (CHP), fuel cells, energy storage, solar, and geothermal systems.
  • Familiarity with microgrids and other distributed energy resource technologies.
  • Understanding of energy resiliency, reliability, and low-carbon solutions and their economic value propositions.
  • Experience coordinating permitting processes across multiple jurisdictions and agencies.
  • Background in responding to RFPs and working with equipment suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Ability to optimize project execution for quality, safety, cost, and schedule performance.
  • Comfort working in a role focused on physical energy infrastructure rather than information technology.

Work Environment
