Grid Integration Specialist

Our client is looking for a highly skilled Grid Integration Specialist to join their innovative team, offering remote work flexibility. This role is essential for ensuring the seamless and stable integration of renewable energy sources and other distributed energy resources into the national electricity grid. You will be responsible for analyzing grid impacts, developing technical solutions, and collaborating with grid operators and project developers.

This position is ideal for an expert in power systems engineering with a passion for advancing the clean energy transition in South Africa .

• Analyze the technical impact of renewable energy projects and distributed generation on the electricity grid.
• Develop and recommend technical solutions for grid interconnection, stability, and power quality issues.
• Collaborate with grid operators (e.g., Eskom), utilities, and project developers to facilitate smooth grid integration.
• Develop and review technical studies, including grid connection studies, stability analyses, and short-circuit studies.
• Stay informed about evolving grid codes, standards, and best practices for integrating variable renewable energy.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance on grid integration challenges and opportunities.

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Power Systems.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in power systems engineering, with a specific focus on grid integration of renewables.
• Deep understanding of grid stability, fault analysis, and power flow dynamics.
• Experience with grid simulation software (e.g., PSS/E, DIgSILENT Power Factory, ETAP).
• Familiarity with South African grid codes and regulatory frameworks is a strong advantage.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
