$22/hour | Up to 30 hours per week | Hybrid (Remote / Office / Theatre)

Position Overview

Musical Fare Theatre seeks a highly organized, responsible, and collaborative individual to support our productions, artists, and staff in an ever-evolving professional theatre environment. This part-time role is central to maintaining clear communication, efficient scheduling, and a positive company culture across all productions.

The Company Manager serves as a primary liaison between artists, production teams, and Musical Fare staff, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations from auditions through closing. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, discreet, and thrives in a fast-paced creative setting.

This position is hybrid, with work taking place remotely, in-office, and on-site at the theatre/rehearsals. Hours will vary and may include evenings and weekends, particularly during rehearsals, tech, and performances.

Key Responsibilities
Production
  • Collaborate with directors, production teams, and staff to create and maintain rehearsal schedules.
  • Help coordinate rehearsal room needs, production resources, and technical requirements with Production Manager/Technical Director (PM/TD).
  • Serve as a liaison between cast, creative teams, and Musical Fare staff.
  • Maintain open and professional communication with all production and creative staff.
  • Be present and available during technical rehearsals and dress rehearsals to assist, problem-solve, and track notes. (Tuesday through Sunday of Tech weeks).
  • Dependent on skills and experience, willingness to help serve as Assistant Stage Manager (ASM) or assist in technical/build roles when needed (additional hours allotted).
Scheduling, Planning & Coordination
  • Collaborate when needed to help maintain the annual production calendar.
  • Assist PM/TD when needed with all production-related dates including auditions, rehearsals, tech, performances, production meetings, and space reservations.
  • Reserve rehearsal and performance spaces with staff at Shea’s.
  • Assist with lobby preparation and front-of-house coordination for performances.
Auditions, Contracts & Administration
  • Help coordinate auditions, callbacks, and casting communications.
  • Tracking of offers, contracts, and any artist communications.
  • Assist with preview invitations and complimentary ticket requests.
  • Distribute, collect, and track cast surveys.
  • Handle scripts and scores, including copying, distribution, and return shipping.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion with contracts, personnel matters, and private information.
Additional Duties
  • Contribute positively to company culture and team morale.
  • Support the success and growth of Musical Fare Theatre through proactive problem-solving and “above-and-beyond” engagement.
  • Serve as a welcoming and professional face of Musical Fare Theatre at rehearsals, performances, events, and community engagements, representing the organization with warmth, clarity, and professionalism to artists, audiences, partners, and stakeholders.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Working knowledge of theatre operations, terminology, and production processes.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Experience with scheduling and coordination in a theatrical setting.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Google Workspace, and the ability to learn additional software as needed.
  • Ability to think creatively when challenges arise.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Positive, adaptable attitude in a dynamic, evolving organization.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
  • Reliable, deadline-driven, and detail-oriented.
  • Experience in stage management or technical theatre is a strong plus.
