What’s the position?

We are seeking an experienced and driven RTA Team Lead to join our dynamic Trading team, reporting directly to the RTA Manager. In this role, you will lead, mentor, and develop a team of Real‑Time Analysts, while taking ownership of day‑to‑day processes across the wider RTA function.

The RTA team is a pivotal part of our sports book operation. Acting as the first line of defence by monitoring betting activity in real time, identifying pricing inefficiencies, mitigating risk, and protecting margin. The team works closely with Trading, Player Optimisation, and Senior Management to drive real‑time efficiency, sharpen market competitiveness, and deliver data‑driven risk management across the sports book.

As Team Lead, you will be the go‑to person on shift for junior team members and will support the RTA Manager with key tasks and strategic priorities as required.

Key Responsibilities Trading & Risk Management
  • Monitor and analyse wagers in real time, identifying pricing inefficiencies, unprofitable customer wagering trends, and other issues as they arise.
  • Identify and escalate sports book margin leaks, including incorrectly correlated Same Game Parlays (SGPs), past‑post issues, and pricing discrepancies.
  • Analyse player betting patterns and risk exposure using advanced sports book analytics tools.
  • Maintain high‑quality bet notation and stay current with relevant betting angles and market trends across multiple sports.
  • Perform competitor analysis and contribute to the development of new trading strategies in collaboration with senior team members.
Leadership & People Development
  • Lead, coach, and supervise a team of Real‑Time Analysts, fostering high performance and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular 1‑2‑1s with direct reports, ensuring individual KPIs and team objectives are being met.
  • Support the onboarding of new RTAs and drive ongoing development plans and upskilling across the team.
  • Lead by example. Presenting new ideas while maintaining the highest standards across current processes and daily performance.
Collaboration & Communication
  • Work hand‑in‑hand with Trading, Player Optimisation, and Senior Management to align on risk management and customer segmentation strategies.
  • Handle queries from internal and external contacts, acting as a key point of contact on shift.
  • Collaborate effectively across teams in a fast‑paced, 24/7 environment
What are we looking for?
  • Essential: Extensive experience working within a sports book or sports betting trading team. Previous experience as a Senior Trader or Trading Analyst is a must.
  • A deep understanding of pricing methodology, in‑play variables, and customer betting behaviour.
  • Experience with US sports is highly desirable.
  • Previous supervisory, coaching, or mentoring experience.
  • Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to make confident, data‑driven decisions.
  • Proficiency with analytics and visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Amplitude is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage senior managers and directors when required.
  • Intellectually curious, always seeking better ways of working and embracing innovative tools and approaches.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while remaining collaborative and responsive to the wider team.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and outside standard hours in line with the 24/7 nature of global sporting events.
