Position: Intake Specialist I (Springfield, MO / Hybrid 4 days remote 1 day in office)

Intake Specialist I – Springfield, MO

Hybrid role: 4 days remote and 1 day per week in our Springfield, MO office. Monday through Friday 9 AM to 6 PM, weekends off.

You will ensure our customers receive the level of care and attention they deserve. You will work closely with clients, caregivers and various departments to provide a seamless customer‑service experience, turning a negative into a positive. You must possess high enthusiasm, a salesman‑like edge, and the ability to move client cases from pending to enrollment status.

Every Day You Will
  • Work closely with patients and caregivers to educate them and assist them through the application and enrollment process, aiming to complete eligibility and onboarding within 60 days of the initial call.
  • Provide necessary documentation and requirements with Missouri Medicaid, patients’ insurance, and caregivers to ensure services are authorized quickly.
  • Work with other medical providers to ensure all documentation for potential patients and caregivers is in compliance.
  • Deliver high‑level customer service through one‑call resolution, demonstrating our values of care and compassion.
  • Consistently meet monthly performance metrics of starting patients on care and call handling.
  • Serve as the initial point‑of‑contact for calls from prospective clients, caregivers, or pending enrollees.
  • Manage a high open caseload until the enrollment process is complete.
  • Communicate regularly with a variety of health plans regarding patient benefits and authorizations.
  • Navigate multiple systems and portals to determine eligibility and obtain authorization.
Ideal Candidate Will Possess
  • Ability to commute into the Springfield, MO office one time a week.
  • Experience in a high‑volume inbound and outbound call environment.
  • Motivation to help patients and caregivers with a drive to exceed open‑case targets and metrics.
  • Poise and patience when dealing with clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills; ability to calmly resolve issues over the telephone.
  • Strong computer proficiency, typing skills, and technology literacy.
  • Attention to detail, metrics‑driven, and excellent time‑management skills.
  • High empathy and a collaborative team spirit.
  • Flexibility and openness to evolving role responsibilities.
Nice‑to‑Haves
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in a similar position.
  • Salesforce experience.
  • 2+ years of customer service experience.
  • Bilingual in Spanish or other languages.

Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this role is between $20.00 and $23.00 an hour for the first year of employment, with compensation decisions depending on skills, experience, education, location, and certifications.

Compensation Range: $20–$23 USD per hour.
