The Event Coordinator plays an important support role on the College of Engineering's (COE) events team, while also being independently responsible for a portfolio of smaller scale events. They support the Events Manager with arranging all COE Advancement-related events, department and college level events and initiatives. They develop plans, make decisions, and implement a portfolio of independently-managed events in partnership with engagement and fundraising experts.
They provide on-site assistance for other departmental events as needed, process event-related fiscal transactions and assist with tracking and reporting event budgets, and enter engagement activity data into the university database. Position may include some remote work options.
- Supports the Events Manager with arranging all COE Advancement-related events, department and college level events and initiatives.
- Develops plans, makes decisions, and implements a portfolio of independently-managed events in partnership with engagement and fundraising experts.
- Provides on-site assistance for other departmental events as needed.
- Processes event-related fiscal transactions and assists the Events Manager with tracking and reporting event budgets.
- Assists the Events Manager with entering engagement activity data into the university database.
- Minimum Education
:
High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience in line with minimum required qualifications. - Required
:
High School diploma or GED or vocational training may be preferred; 1 year of event planning experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
Ability to be in a stationary position for hours, be mobile, and lift 25-50 lbs.;
Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, some travel, and additional hours during high-volume event weeks. - Desired
:
Bachelor's Level Degree with 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred;
Strong customer service, organizational, written and interpersonal communication, and time management skills;
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint);
Experience working with OSU's fiscal and travel policies and with the university's TAS database;
Experience planning events in a university setting.

- Hiring Range: $16.65 - $21.77 (actual pay rate will vary based on multiple factors, including education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.)
