The Temporary Traffic Control Attendant role is expected to last approximately 1 month starting on June, 1st working Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. The position is fully outdoors and involves coordinating traffic flow. To support employee comfort, weather supports will be provided such as a tented area.
This job can be described as:
Traffic Control Attendant is responsible for managing vehicle and pedestrian flow in and around the campus parking lot during construction. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient traffic movement while minimizing disruptions and maintaining a safe environment.
Job Model: On-Site
All fully remote positions have no regular expected onsite scheduled days. Fully remote employees may be required to come onsite due to business needs.
Hybrid positions will require employees to work both on-site and remote each week under a schedule that has been determined and agreed upon by you and your manager.
On-Site positions will require employees to work on-site for each of their scheduled shifts.
A typical day at work would include:- Consistent, regular and punctual attendance is an essential function of this job.
- Direct vehicles safely through the parking lot and construction area.
- Guide pedestrians to designated safe walkways.
- Monitor traffic flow and adjust directions as needed.
- Communicate clearly with drivers, pedestrians, construction staff and other traffic controllers.
- Set up and maintain traffic cones, signage, and barriers.
- Report any safety concerns or incidents to Director of Operations.
- May require early mornings, evenings, or weekend shifts depending on project needs.
- Assist with general operational tasks or other assigned duties during downtime within the Operations department.
- High School Diploma.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and instructions.
- Ability to use walkie talkies effectively.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Works well with a diverse group of people.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
