This work unit exists to perpetuate the wildlife resources of the State, to provide a quality State Parks system, and to provide enjoyable and sustainable outdoor recreation opportunities that educate and inspire current and future generations to serve as active stewards of Colorado’s Natural Resources. The Agency’s long range and strategic plan will be executed by providing outstanding customer service, as well as safe, quality recreational opportunities for visitors, while effectively managing the natural resources and facilities of Highline Lake State Park.
This position exists to provide customer service at Highline State Park in regards to Park reservations, amenities and operations, fishing, hunting, and watchable wildlife;
Interpret rules, regulations, and brochures;
Sell licenses, state park passes and registrations to the public;
Manage a variety of Visitor Center programs including retail sales, group area reservations and website/phone communications;
Coordinate front office operations including recruiting, hiring, scheduling and training of temporary employees and volunteers;
Provide administrative assistance to the Park Manager V with an emphasis on accounting and financial record keeping while managing special projects.
Accurate completion and processing of documents including all aspects of finance pertaining to Park operations, Park Manager V and unit staff. Pays accounts payable by coding, completing and correction of documents for CORE entry. Establish, administer and monitor financial processes, including verification of all coding information to assure compliance with fiscal procedures, delivery of designated goods and services and timely payment of vendors;
Research payments and communicates both internally and externally, and makes independent decisions for problem resolutions; prepare and review receiving reports, verify accuracy of vendor invoices, tax Ids and addresses;
One card allocation and SARA app reconciliation for all Park staff;
Design and monitor checkbook spreadsheets to record and track all expenditures of the cost center.
First contact for Public/Customers/Agencies who works directly with park visitors to answer questions about park amenities and operations. Determines customers' needs and decides what actions are needed and how to handle requests.
