Legal Collections Specialist – Zurich North America

Zurich is currently looking for a Legal Collections Specialist to work out of our North American headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois. The role involves performing complex finance operations tasks, monitoring day‑to‑day relationships between the Organization and suppliers, and ensuring financial goals are met. The Specialist may also handle collections and receivables management duties for more complex accounts referred to special collections, including bankruptcies on accounts designated as legal collections.

• Act as an initial point of escalation for Finance Operations Associates, providing technical guidance and work direction.
• Respond to internal and external client inquiries by providing technical advice in a professional, timely, and accurate manner in complex situations.
• Proactively analyze performance of key performance indicators and communicate status and issues to management.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the customer’s needs, review processes and procedures, and recommend and implement continuous improvement.
• Lead and collaborate on moderately complex ad‑hoc projects.

• Bachelor’s degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Finance Operations area, OR
• High School diploma or equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in the Finance Operations area, OR
• Certified Zurich Insurance Apprentice, including Associate’s degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Finance Operations area AND
• Knowledge of financial collections practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of accounting standards and practice.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
• Insurance industry experience.

Salary range: $71,100.00 – $, with short‑term incentive bonus eligibility of 10%. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. We offer competitive pay and comprehensive benefits for employees and their families.
