What to ExpectThe Associate, Bankruptcy is primarily responsible for effective case management and resolution of complex issues to protect the company from loss related to bankruptcy proceedings. This position may support bankruptcy teams within the department (Chapter 7, Chapter 13, Chapter 11, and Chapter 12 accounts) for retail and lease accounts nationwide via multiple channels. The role complies with internal policy and procedures for managing all accounts.
Collaboration across the Operations Division and with other departments is expected to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Review customer accounts according to department standards for queue management and documentation.
- Process bankruptcy documents as needed.
- Maintain detailed logs of irregularities and participate in reviews to escalate issues for HCA.
- Perform medium to heavy skip tracing using available tools (e.g., Accurint, TLO) where applicable.
- Obtain accurate information on all accounts to ensure appropriate actions are taken (may manage repossession assignments as needed).
- Prepare, file, and release documents/correspondence in accordance with HCA policies and state/federal laws.
What You Will Bring
- 2-4 years of finance or bankruptcy experience, with auto-finance experience preferred.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to multitask and independently manage time; basic computer skills including Word and Excel.
- Strong communication skills to clearly convey information to peers and customers.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a focus on creating positive customer experiences.
- Remote work environment experience.
- Heavy volume of accounts.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Shift-based schedule with an average of 40 hours per week; overtime may be required.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and monitor work in a noisy environment.
