Our client is an international chemical trading and investment MNC backed by a blue‑chip parent company which is stable and established. It is based in town (right next to a MRT station). You will report to the Deputy Head, Finance and Accounting (who then reports to the CFO).

This is a new position plays a critical role in safeguarding the organization from financial, operational, and reputational risks while ensuring all business activities comply with local and international trade regulations. This executive will work cross‑functionally to identify, assess, and mitigate risks, as well as implement and monitor compliance programs that adhere to applicable laws and industry standards.
Main functions Credit Risk- Performs fundamental credit risk analysis on customers.
- Monitors market, regulatory, macro‑economic, political developments & company’s performance to assess the impact on the credit quality of our counter parties.
- Uploads analysis of our counterparts, latest financial statements to internal credit rating tools and to provide opinion to the credit manager on approval or non‑approval to the customers.
- Proposes all relevant risk mitigation options to cover the credit risk, including Credit by access to Trade Insurance & negotiation with the insurance companies.
- Analyzes & review transactions within existing limits which was approved by Management.
- Prepares daily reports on overdues & violations.
- Ensure consistency of approvals, methologies and adherence to company’s risk management policies & procedures.
- Works closely with the commercial managers/staff to assess the risks to identify & mitigate the risks.
- Monitor strict control by each governmental authority for customs issues, regulations on import & export controls.
- Implement migration of our trade compliance platform.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant trade regulations, export/import controls, and sanctions requirements.
- Conduct regular internal audit & review to assess the compliance of departments & employees.
- Build sound knowledge of our business to identify red flags in the operations, and to prevent any violations of customs regulations.
- Provide guidance and training staff on risk awareness and trade compliance matters.
- Serve as the primary contact for regulatory bodies and external auditors on matters related to risk and trade compliance.
- Investigate and report compliance breaches or incidents, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are taken promptly.
- Keep up to date with changes in relevant legislation and best practices, advising management accordingly.
- Support as a Backup for IT systems.
- To support Corporate Secretarial functions.
- To support Business Continuity Plan/Management.
- At least Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Law, or a related field.
- Around 2 to 5 years' experience in risk management (covering credit risk), trade compliance, or a related field. Experience in trading industry will be advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, including US OFAC sanction regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Basic experience in IT systems and support, and good understanding with MS Office applications.
- Ensure accuracy of reports and good communication skills both written & verbal.
- Ability to multi‑task and able to work well as a team member.
- Willing to learn with a positive attitude.
